Meeting with the Attaché of the Italian Embassy

Kazakh-American University (KAU) welcomed Edoardo Crisafulli, Attaché of the Italian Embassy in Kazakhstan and Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Almaty.

During the visit, the guest met with KAU President Assylbek Issakhov. The President emphasized the importance of cultural dialogue and supported the initiative to strengthen cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institute.

The guest also delivered a talk to KAU students, where he spoke about his career in diplomacy, his experience teaching Italian language and culture at universities in Ireland, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, as well as his work at Italian Cultural Institutes in Haifa, Damascus, Beirut and Tokyo. Edoardo Crisafulli shared his views on the role of cultural diplomacy in the modern world and spoke about his academic and literary works.

At the end of the meeting, students asked questions about careers in cultural diplomacy, the specifics of working in different countries, and how Italian culture is perceived in Central Asia. The event was organized jointly with the Astana Diplomatic Club.
