Foundation of Kazakh-American University.
Kazakh-American University was founded in 1997 with the aim of introducing international educational standards and integrating Kazakhstan’s higher education system into the global academic space.
From the first years of its establishment, the university developed partnerships with foreign higher education institutions, promoted academic mobility, and focused on a practice-oriented model of education.

• Fourteen students were sent to the United States for summer internship programs.
• Kazakh-American University became part of the International Educational Corporation (IEC).
• The university celebrated its 10th anniversary.
The first inauguration ceremony for graduates was held at the new campus.
• The university successfully passed state attestation as part of the International Educational Corporation.
• Publication of the KAU newspaper began.
KAU entered the Top 10 humanities and economics universities in Kazakhstan according to the national ranking of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• The first MBA program graduates completed their studies.
• KAU became a member of the International Alliance IAINTECHED, USA.
Agreements were signed with EMS Language Academy in Malaysia and Ardahan State University in Türkiye.
The IV Republican Scientific and Practical Conference titled “Role of English Language in the System of Education, Internationalization and Polylingual Concept Development in Kazakhstan” was held in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Cambridge University Press.
The e-learning distance education system was launched.
KAU ranked 1st in Kazakhstan in the URAP – University Ranking by Academic Performance.
Kazakh-American University celebrated its 20th anniversary.

The Winter School project for faculty members was launched.
The International Educational Corporation was headed by Aigazy Amirlanovich Kussainov.
The franchise of the travel company “Poekhali s nami” was acquired to introduce practical skills into the Tourism educational program.
An agreement was signed with Cambridge Academy, and IELTS preparation courses were launched.
Assylbek Abdiashimovich Issakhov became President of Kazakh-American University.
