KAU President to Lead Kazakhstan’s National Team at the International Mathematical Olympiad
The 67th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), one of the oldest and most prestigious intellectual competitions for school students, will be held in Shanghai. The competition will take place on the campus of Shanghai High School.
The IMO has been held since 1959 and annually brings together the strongest young mathematicians from around the world. Each country is represented by a team of six participants and two team leaders. Kazakhstan has been taking part in the IMO since 1993 and has won gold, silver and bronze medals over the years, consistently demonstrating a high level of preparation. At last year’s competition in Australia, the national team returned home with six medals.
Since 2020, Kazakhstan’s national team has been led by Asylbek Issakhov, President of Kazakh-American University, PhD. For many years, he has been involved in preparing school students for major intellectual competitions, including the BMO and the IMO. Thanks to his experience and systematic work, Kazakhstani participants have repeatedly achieved strong results on the international stage.
We wish Kazakhstan’s national team a confident performance, strong solutions and new victories at one of the world’s leading mathematical platforms.
