KAU President’s Visit to the Harriman Institute at Columbia University
The Harriman Institute at Columbia University is a place where the global agenda of Eurasian studies is shaped. It was this institution that President of Kazakh-American University Assylbek Issakhov visited as part of his working trip.
The dialogue was held with Alla Rachkov, Associate Director of the Institute, Alexander Cooley, Professor of Political Science, and Jack Snyder, Professor of International Relations. The discussion focused on opportunities for KAU to join international academic networks and on areas where the research interests of both sides intersect.
Founded in 1946, the Harriman Institute remains one of the world’s most respected centers for the study of Russia, Eurasia, and Eastern Europe. Engagement with the Harriman Institute opens new opportunities for KAU in the fields of Eurasian studies and academic exchange.
For a university consistently expanding its international presence, cooperation with one of the oldest and most influential research centers in the United States marks an important step in strengthening its global academic standing.
