Meeting with the Delegation of Open University Malaysia

A meeting was held at Kazakh-American University between the KAU leadership and a delegation from Open University Malaysia, during which the parties discussed practical steps to develop their partnership and identified key areas of cooperation.

One of the main priorities is the implementation of dual degree programs. Currently, curriculum mapping is underway for the programs in Business, Tourism, and Marketing.

Another important area is the development of student mobility. At present, programs are being designed to allow students to study in Malaysia for a certain period with the possibility of credit transfer. The Tourism program is considered as a pilot direction.

Special attention was also given to organizing internships for KAU faculty members in Malaysia, aimed at mastering modern online teaching methods and developing digital educational content.

The parties also agreed to launch joint research projects focused on publications in internationally peer-reviewed journals indexed in the SCOPUS database. Priority areas include sustainable development and digital transformation.

Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to systematically implement the planned initiatives. It should be noted that the memorandum of cooperation with OUM was signed in February this year during the visit of the Malaysian university’s delegation to KAU.
