Performance Marketing in Practice: KAU Students Explore Advertising Tools on Meta and TikTok
Setting up ads is just one stage of digital marketing. Behind every successful advertising campaign are audience analysis, strategic budget allocation, hypothesis testing, and continuous monitoring of performance metrics.
The practical aspects of performance marketing were the focus of a guest lecture delivered to students of Kazakh-American University by Sergey Sushchenko, a digital advertising expert.
The session focused on two of the world’s leading advertising platforms — Meta and TikTok. Participants explored approaches to launching paid advertising campaigns, the specifics of targeting and engaging audiences, and the opportunities available for optimizing advertising performance.
One of the defining characteristics of performance marketing is its focus on measurable results. Students learned why views and reach alone are not enough to evaluate advertising effectiveness, how conversion rates and customer acquisition costs contribute to performance assessment, and how data can be used to refine advertising strategies.
The lecture highlighted that today’s digital marketing professionals need to combine creative thinking with analytical skills, understand advertising platform algorithms, and be able to assess how their decisions affect key business metrics.
Exposure to these tools helps our students expand their professional skill sets and gain a better understanding of the practical challenges involved in digital marketing.
