“Diplomacy of the Future”: International Summer School takes place at KAU
Kazakh-American University, in partnership with the Diplomatic Club “Astana”, has officially launched the International Summer School “Diplomacy of the Future: International Relations in the Digital Age” – an ambitious educational endeavour bringing together young researchers, academics, and practitioners from across the globe. Participants were warmly welcomed by KAU students and staff right at the airport.

Running from June 21 to 28, 2026 in Almaty, the Summer School aspires to become a vibrant international forum for engaging with the defining challenges of our time – digital diplomacy, global governance, and intercultural dialogue. Over the course of the week, participants will take part in lectures by leading experts, workshops, panel discussions, and hands-on sessions with representatives of international organisations and the diplomatic corps.
Gathered in a shared academic space are students, graduate researchers, and faculty from universities across China, Greece, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Russia, the United States, and Uzbekistan. The endeavour is supported by UNHCR, the UNESCO Regional Bureau in Almaty, the Embassy of the Italian Republic in Kazakhstan, and a number of other distinguished international partners.
This format offers something rare – the chance to step beyond the classroom and engage directly with the realities of modern diplomacy. Initiatives of this calibre are precisely what it takes to shape a new generation of professionals ready to lead meaningful dialogue on the world stage.
