KAU Student Becomes Prize-Winner of the Kazakhstan Karate Cup

Gulzhaina Orazbayeva, a second-year student of the International Relations educational program at Kazakh-American University, won second place at the Kyokushin-kan Karate Cup of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The competition brought together around 500 top athletes from 17 regions of the country.

The tournament took place in early April 2026 in Aktobe among athletes aged 18 and above. Gulzhaina holds a brown belt in karate and competed in the under 60 kg weight category, demonstrating a high level of training and skill.

As a result of the competition, she not only became a prize-winner but also qualified for the Asian Championship, which will be held in June this year in the Kyrgyz Republic.
