KAU Establishes Partnership with a U.S. University
An online signing ceremony of a memorandum of cooperation was held at Kazakh-American University with one of the leading U.S. institutions – the University of New Haven (UNH). The document was signed by KAU President Assylbek Issakhov and UNH President Jens Frederiksen. The meeting was also attended by Provost Nancy Savage, Vice President for Enrollment Management Greg Eichhorn, and Vice President for Government Affairs and Global Engagement Mario Gabouri.
The agreement expands the geography of academic opportunities and strengthens KAU’s institutional ecosystem by providing access to UNH resources. Key areas of cooperation include academic mobility programs with opportunities for study and internships in the United States, summer schools, enhanced faculty collaboration, and the implementation of joint research projects.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that such partnerships serve as an important tool for fostering communication and mutual understanding between representatives of different countries. “When a student crosses the ocean in pursuit of knowledge, they build a bridge between cultures,” was noted during the ceremony, reflecting the philosophy of this partnership.
It should be noted that in March this year, KAU students visited UNH and several other leading U.S. universities as part of the American Study Camp program. They explored campus infrastructure, academic environments, and research facilities, interacted with students, and attended lectures by leading professors, gaining valuable international academic experience.
