Memorandum signed with a Turkish university

The Kazakh-American University has signed a cooperation agreement with Kastamonu University, located in the city of Kastamonu, Turkey. The agreement was signed by KAU President Assylbek Issakhov and Rector of KU Ahmet Hamdi Topal. The meeting was also attended by Mustafa Ozturk Akcaoglu, Advisor to the Rector for International Cooperation, and Timur Nusipkhanov, Head of the “IHSAN” Center for Science and Culture.

As part of the visit, the Turkish delegation was given a campus tour, during which they were introduced to KAU’s infrastructure, including classrooms, lecture halls, and other academic facilities.

During the discussions, the parties outlined key areas of cooperation. One of the main priorities is the development of academic mobility, providing students and faculty from both universities with opportunities to study in Almaty and Kastamonu, thereby expanding their academic and cultural experience.

Particular attention was given to participation in international initiatives, including the Erasmus+ program. This enables students to study abroad on a grant basis, acquire advanced knowledge, and develop professional skills and competencies. In the near future, plans include the launch of double degree programs, summer schools, and research internships.

Another important area of partnership is the development of research activities. The partner universities intend to initiate joint research projects, combining the efforts of scholars from both countries to address relevant topics.
