KAU at the SCO Women’s Forum: Empowerment and Opportunities
Alina Abdrakhmanova, Managing Partner of the Kazakh-American University and member of the Commission on Women’s Affairs and Family-Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, spoke at the Women’s Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Qingdao, China.
The forum was held from September 10 to 12 as part of the SCO Summit and focused on “Empowering Women Economically through Digitalization.”
In her speech, Alina Abdrakhmanova emphasized the importance of investing in the education of girls and women, highlighting that such investments improve family well-being and contribute to overall economic growth. She also presented projects implemented together with the Samruk-Kazyna Fund, Technowomen, and Astana Hub, and proposed creating a unified digital learning platform for women from SCO member states.
After the forum, meetings were held with representatives of the SCO Technology Transfer Center and the SCO Trade Institute. The discussions focused on cooperation with KAU, including student and faculty exchange programs, as well as international internship opportunities.
Inclusive development and women’s empowerment are key priorities of the Kazakh-American University’s strategy. KAU continues to support initiatives that expand opportunities for women in education, science, and business.
