KAU Students Selected for the Youth Literary Workshop

Students of the Kazakh-American University have successfully passed the competitive selection process for the Youth Literary Workshop organized by the Open Literary School of Almaty with the support of Chevron and the U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Kazakhstan.

As a result of the selection process, three KAU students were admitted to the program:

Ayazhan Amirtayeva was selected as a funded participant;
Abay Bermanov was selected as a funded participant;
Aylina Adilzhan was invited to join the program as a non-degree participant with the opportunity to attend free of charge and receive a completion certificate.

All three students are members of KAU’s literary club, “Tochka Chteniya” (“Reading Point”). Their success reflects the systematic literary mentoring provided through the club, including manuscript development, editing, and preparation of competition submissions.

According to the official results, the workshop’s main cohort includes 16 young writers representing different regions of Kazakhstan, including Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, and Shchuchinsk. The selected participants are Aruzhan Abugalieva, Ayazhan Amirtayeva, Diana Artemyeva, Aidar Aspan, Abay Bermanov, Polina Vetlugina, Amira Zhanali, Veniamin Kadatskikh, Vasilisa Lugovskaya, Dildora Mamyrzhanova, Meir Miran, Kamila Nurakhmet, Timofey Pavlov, Arailym Sapar, Sofia Saryan, and Damira Turmukhambetova.

The Youth Literary Workshop offers participants a valuable opportunity to work with professional writers, editors, and literary experts while gaining practical experience beyond the academic curriculum.

The achievement of KAU students highlights the effectiveness of the university’s literary initiatives and demonstrates the important role of extracurricular creative activities in nurturing young talent and supporting professional development.
