Student Creativity Brings the Spirit of Nauryz to Life
A student concert dedicated to the celebration of Nauryz – a symbol of renewal, unity, and the arrival of spring – was successfully held at Kazakh-American University.
Welcoming the participants, President of KAU, Assylbek Issakhov, emphasized the importance of preserving cultural heritage and strengthening spiritual values within the student community.
A theatrical performance featuring the traditional shashu ritual and the blessing of Kydyr Ata added a special sense of solemnity to the celebration, enriching it with deep cultural meaning. The audience not only enjoyed a vivid performance but also connected with the rich traditions and cultural identity of the Kazakh people.
The concert continued with a performance of the kuy “Balbyraun” by the ensemble of folk instruments, which was met with warm applause. The evening was further enhanced by choreographic pieces performed by the “Kauzen” ensemble, showcasing the richness and expressiveness of Kazakh dance. The performance of the kuy “Erke Sylkym”, along with a kobyz medley of Kazakh folk songs, deeply resonated with the audience and was received with particular warmth, highlighting the depth and beauty of the national musical heritage.
The highlight of the evening was the dynamic performance by KAU Band, which blended modern songs with retro motifs, filling the hall with vibrant energy and creating a truly festive atmosphere.
The concert became part of a series of events organized at the university in celebration of Nauryz, once again underscoring the significance of this holiday in bringing people together through shared values, culture, and traditions.
