KAU and a Malaysian University Established a Partnership
Kazakh-American University (KAU) hosted a meeting with a delegation from Open University Malaysia (OUM), which resulted in the signing of a memorandum of cooperation.
During the campus tour, guests from Malaysia explored KAU’s infrastructure, visited the museum dedicated to the university’s founder Amirlan Kusainov, and met with students.
In turn, the Rector of OUM noted that the university was founded in 2000 and is part of a consortium of leading public universities in Malaysia.
The university’s main advantage is its flexible online learning model, which allows students to enroll based on professional experience and study without leaving their jobs. OUM also has an extensive international educational network covering countries in Asia, Europe, and Africa.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the development of bilateral academic mobility for students and faculty, the launch of joint distance-learning educational programs, and research projects focused on the needs of the digital economy.
As a result of the meeting, a memorandum was signed, laying the foundation for long-term cooperation between the two universities.
